The art community thrives here, so naturally anywhere you look you're bound to catch a glimpse of paintings or sculptures. A lot of times you'll even see art pieces hanging off the sides or through city buildings. With the amount of activities to do, you'll never run out of things to do or explore. This is a great place to come if you want to experience a bit of wilderness while you're visiting a large city.

Portland Japanese Garden

Portland Japanese Gardenis known as one of the most beautiful and accurate looking japanese garden that is located outside of Japan. It was created in 1963 and designed to be 8 different styles of japanese gardens. The garden spans up to 12 acres of tranquil beauty and peace that keeps you coming back for more. They also have a lovely main building that teaches you a bit about japanese pottery, flower arrangement and traditions.

Portland Saturday Market

The Portland Saturday Market was Founded in 1974 and is located in Portland's historic Old Town. The market is open to everyone and in all an amazing experience with over 100 vendors weekly. They have many henna art stalls if you want to have something drawn on you, along with any type of food you could think of. Many of the stalls have art that people have created from pottery, to jewerly, to crystals.

Oregon Zoo

The Oregon Zoo has 64-acres of land devoted to taking care of their animal friends and providing knowledge to those who visit. They are widely known for their acts of conservation and fighting to prevent certain species from extinction. Currently the zoo homes about 1,800 animals,
9 of those being threatened species. They also have an incredible array
of plants in their large botanical garden.

Washington Park

Washington Park has a large variety of activities to indulge yourself in. For example, there's an archery range, a museum of living trees, the international rose test garden, a zoo and statues.
PARK HOURS: 5 a.m. – 10 p.m.
FEES: The Park is free to enter. There is a $2/hour fee to park.
